Trump to Attend FIFA World Cup 2026 Final, Join Trophy Presentation Ceremony

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed that U.S. President Donald Trump will attend the FIFA World Cup 2026 final and participate in the trophy presentation ceremony following the championship match on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Speaking during an interview with Fox & Friends, Infantino said he and Trump would present the World Cup trophy together to the victorious team. “We will be together with the president, enjoying the final, and handing the trophy to the winner — of course, together,” Infantino said.

When asked whether Trump would officially join him for the presentation ceremony, the FIFA chief replied, “Of course. We are together all the time.” Trump previously appeared at the FIFA Club World Cup final held at the same venue last year, where Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0. His presence during the trophy-lifting ceremony attracted global attention and sparked widespread discussion among football fans.

According to reports, Infantino has been attending as many World Cup matches as possible during the tournament, often watching multiple games in a single day. While Trump has not yet attended any matches during the ongoing competition, his appearance at the final is expected to be one of the tournament's most closely watched moments.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 final will conclude the first-ever 48-team edition of the tournament, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
