Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Mumbai on 17 February 2026, marking a key moment in the evolving India–France relationship. President Macron is visiting India from 17 to 19 February at the Prime Minister’s invitation, during which he will participate in the AI Impact Summit and hold bilateral discussions.
The two leaders are scheduled to hold formal bilateral engagements at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai, in the afternoon. The meeting will focus on reviewing the progress achieved under the India–France Strategic Partnership, which has expanded steadily across defence, technology, climate cooperation, and economic collaboration. Officials indicated that discussions will also explore opportunities to strengthen cooperation in new and emerging sectors.
In addition to bilateral priorities, Prime Minister Modi and President Macron are expected to exchange views on pressing regional and global issues. The dialogue reflects the shared commitment of both countries to deepen strategic coordination and reinforce multilateral cooperation.
Later in the evening, the leaders will jointly inaugurate the India–France Year of Innovation 2026. The initiative is designed to boost collaboration between businesses, start-ups, researchers, and innovators from both nations. The event will bring together representatives from industry and academia, highlighting the growing importance of technology, research, and entrepreneurship in the bilateral partnership.
This visit marks President Macron’s fourth trip to India and his first official visit to Mumbai, underscoring the expanding scope of engagement between the two countries.
