New Delhi : A major infrastructure milestone is set to be achieved in Uttar Pradesh as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 594-kilometre-long Ganga Expressway on April 29. The launch event will take place in Mallawan, located in Hardoi district.

The Ganga Expressway, described as the longest expressway in the state, stretches from Meerut to Prayagraj, connecting a total of 12 districts. Once operational, it is expected to significantly reduce travel time, with journeys such as Lucknow to Meerut likely to be completed in just 6 to 8 hours.

The project is expected to enhance regional connectivity, making travel faster and more efficient for commuters. It is also anticipated to open up new opportunities for trade, industry, and employment across the state.

Ahead of the inauguration, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed preparations at the venue in Mallawan. He inspected infrastructure arrangements, including security, stage setup, and public facilities, and directed officials to ensure all arrangements are completed on time.

The launch of the Ganga Expressway will further strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s expanding expressway network, which already includes major projects like the Purvanchal and Bundelkhand expressways. Officials believe the project will play a key role in accelerating economic growth and improving connectivity across the state.
