Rare Triplets Born via Normal Delivery in MP, Woman Becomes Mother of Seven
34-year-old from Panna delivers three healthy babies in Satna hospital; rare case surprises doctors
In a remarkable medical case, a 34-year-old woman from Madhya Pradesh has given birth to triplets through a normal delivery at a district hospital in Satna—a rare occurrence in such cases.
Kanchan Soni, a resident of the Saleha area in Panna district, delivered the three babies within a span of about one and a half hours on April 27. The first baby boy was born at 10:34 PM, the second at 10:45 PM, and after nearly an hour, a baby girl was born at 11:57 PM.
All three newborns were reported to be healthy, with weights of approximately 2 kg, 2.3 kg, and 2.65 kg respectively.
According to doctors, both the mother and babies are stable and are currently under observation in the postnatal care ward. Medical experts noted that normal delivery in triplet cases is uncommon, making this birth particularly noteworthy.
Kanchan already had four children aged 11, 9, 7, and 5. With the arrival of the triplets, her family has now grown to seven children, bringing joy to the household.
Doctors revealed that the family had learned about the triplet pregnancy during a scan in the fifth month. The successful delivery has been seen as a positive outcome, even as it raises questions around awareness of family planning in rural areas.
