Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Statistics & Programme Implementation and Planning, and MoS for Culture, Shri Rao Inderjit Singh, met Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan at Parliament House today. Senior officials from NITI Aayog and MoSPI were also present for the high-level review.

During the interaction, the Vice-President was briefed on major policy initiatives, recent achievements, and the long-term strategic roadmap being shaped by NITI Aayog and MoSPI. Key discussions included progress under the Vision for Viksit Bharat@2047, strengthening national data systems, and enhancing coordination with States for evidence-based governance.

The Vice-President appreciated NITI Aayog’s proactive engagement with Central Ministries and State Governments in improving policy design and delivery. He highlighted successful models like the Aspirational Districts Programme, which has become a benchmark for performance-driven development.

Shri Radhakrishnan also praised MoSPI’s efforts to elevate India’s statistical architecture through global best practices, improved standards, and timely data dissemination. He stressed that credible and high-quality statistics are fundamental to effective governance, informed decision-making, and national progress.

The meeting reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a future-ready policy and data ecosystem aligned with India’s development aspirations.
