Faridabad Terror Module Busted: 2900 kg of Ammonium Nitrate Seized; Red Fort Blast Linked to JeM Network

New Delhi, November 11, 2025 — In a major breakthrough following the Red Fort blast in New Delhi, investigators have uncovered a massive cache of explosives and arrested three individuals believed to be part of an active terror module linked to the Pakistan-based outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM).
According to official sources, 2900 kilograms of ammonium nitrate have been recovered so far during extensive house-to-house searches in Faridabad, Haryana. The seizure is alarming, as the quantity is 1,000 kg more than what was used in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing in the United States, one of the deadliest terrorist attacks of its time.
Authorities have confirmed the arrests of Dr. Shaheena, Dr. Shakil, and Dr. Adil Ahmad, all practicing doctors based in the Delhi-NCR region. The three are suspected of being key members of a newly formed Jaish medical recruitment cell, which used trained professionals to develop and conceal explosives under the guise of laboratory materials.
Investigators have also identified Dr. Umar Muhammad, the prime suspect and driver of the car that exploded near Red Fort on Sunday evening. Dr. Umar, who was killed in the explosion, is believed to have been on a suicide mission. Sources suggest that he panicked after the arrests in Faridabad and attempted to flee, detonating the explosives prematurely while driving toward Delhi.
Background details reveal that Dr. Umar studied medicine at the Government Medical College, Srinagar, and later worked as a Senior Resident at GMC Anantnag before joining Alfalah University, Faridabad as an Assistant Professor. His transition from a respected medical professional to a radicalized operative is now under investigation by central agencies.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is expected to take over the probe officially today, is focusing on tracing the supply chain of the ammonium nitrate and identifying the cross-border handlers who facilitated funding and logistics.
Security has been heightened across Delhi-NCR, with anti-terror squads and forensic experts deployed at multiple sites. The Ministry of Home Affairs has termed the developments a “significant success in averting a larger conspiracy”, warning that India’s medical and educational sectors are now on the radar of extremist groups for potential infiltration.
