The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), in collaboration with the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) under the Ministry of Defence, has successfully concluded the third batch of its Directors’ Certification Program on Corporate Governance for senior defence officers. The valedictory session was held on 21 November 2025 at the IICA Campus in Manesar, Gurugram.

The two-week intensive program trained 30 senior serving and recently superannuated officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. With this batch, the initiative has now trained 90 distinguished defence officers since August 2024, equipping them with expertise in boardroom roles, corporate governance, and independent directorship.

Shri Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, DG & CEO of IICA, highlighted the unique strengths defence officers bring to corporate leadership—strategic thinking, risk assessment, ethical conduct, and discipline—qualities that make them valuable contributors in corporate boardrooms.

The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. K. P. Krishnan, former Secretary to the Government of India, while the keynote was presented by Smt. Sukriti Likhi, Secretary, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence.

This program aims to support defence personnel in transitioning to leadership roles within India’s corporate sector and promote high standards of corporate governance.
