Xiaomi Launches Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra in India

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has officially launched its latest flagship smartphones — the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 — in the Indian market. The new Xiaomi 17 series introduces premium specifications, advanced camera technology, and high-performance hardware aimed at competing in the flagship smartphone segment.

One of the standout features of the new devices is the optical system co-engineered with German camera brand Leica. The collaboration focuses on delivering improved photography capabilities and professional-grade camera performance.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra comes with a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. The device weighs about 218 grams, features an aluminum alloy frame, and carries an IP68 rating for resistance against dust and water. It will be available in White, Black, and Starlit Green colour options.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 features a slightly smaller 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display, also supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits brightness. The smartphone weighs 191 grams and also comes with IP68 certification. It will be available in Venture Green, Alpine Pink, Ice Blue, and Black.

In terms of battery performance, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery supporting 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The Xiaomi 17, on the other hand, comes with a slightly larger 6,300 mAh battery and supports 100W wired charging along with 50W wireless charging.

Both smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and run on Xiaomi HyperOS 3.5, offering enhanced performance, AI capabilities, and improved system optimization.

Photography is a major highlight of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. It features a 1-inch LOFIC main camera sensor with a 50 MP primary camera, a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera. The periscope lens supports 75–100mm mechanical optical zoom, enabling advanced long-range photography. The device also includes a 50 MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

The Xiaomi 17 offers a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50 MP main camera, 50 MP periscope telephoto lens, and 50 MP ultra-wide camera, along with a 50 MP front camera.

In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is priced at ₹1,29,999, while the Xiaomi 17 starts at ₹89,999. Both smartphones will be available for purchase starting March 18 through Amazon, Xiaomi’s official website, and retail stores across India.
