The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released findings of an Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted across Bikaner district in Rajasthan to assess real-world mobile network performance for consumers.

According to a statement issued on March 2 by Press Information Bureau (PIB Delhi), the drive tests were carried out in January 2026 across Bikaner City, Nokha and Shri Dungargarh towns, as well as key highway stretches including Deshnok to Norangdesar (part of NH 754A under the Amritsar–Jamnagar Bharatmala corridor) and Pugal to Ranjeetpura on NH-911.

The purpose of the IDT was to evaluate and verify the quality of voice and data services provided by Telecom Service Providers (TSPs). During the exercise, TRAI captured live network performance data on key parameters such as call setup success rate, speech quality, data download and upload speeds. Advanced test handsets were used, and sessions were monitored in real time using specialised software systems.

The Jaipur Regional Office of TRAI, through its appointed agency, conducted the tests from January 13 to January 16, 2026. The assessment covered 293.8 km within towns and cities, 41.1 km on the Deshnok–Norangdesar stretch, and 104.2 km along NH-911.

The findings have been shared with respective service providers for necessary action. The detailed report is available on TRAI’s official website for public access.
