SRH Crush DC by 47 Runs as Abhishek Sharma’s Blazing Century Steals the Show
Abhishek Sharma’s unbeaten 135 powers Sunrisers Hyderabad to a massive total, while Eshan Malinga’s fiery spell seals a dominant win over Delhi Capitals.
Sunrisers Hyderabad delivered a commanding performance to defeat Delhi Capitals by 47 runs in Match 31 of TATA IPL 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. The victory marked SRH’s third consecutive win, driven by a sensational innings from Abhishek Sharma and a clinical bowling display led by Eshan Malinga.
After being put in to bat by DC skipper Axar Patel, SRH got off to a flying start courtesy of Travis Head (37 off 26). However, the night belonged entirely to Abhishek Sharma, who smashed a breathtaking unbeaten 135 off 68 balls, including 10 fours and 10 sixes.
Captain Ishan Kishan chipped in with a quick 25, while Heinrich Klaasen provided a late onslaught with an explosive 37* off just 13 balls. SRH posted a daunting 242/2, leaving DC with a mountain to climb.
In response, Delhi Capitals struggled to keep up with the required rate. KL Rahul scored a brisk 37, while Nitish Rana fought hard with a 57 off 30 balls. Contributions from Sameer Rizvi (41) and Tristan Stubbs (27) were not enough to sustain the chase.
Eshan Malinga turned the game decisively in SRH’s favor with outstanding figures of 4/32, while Harsh Dubey supported brilliantly with 3/12. DC eventually finished at 195/9, falling well short of the target.
Abhishek Sharma was rightly named Player of the Match for his record-breaking knock, as SRH continued their impressive run in the tournament.
