RCB Crush CSK by 43 Runs, Go Top of IPL 2026 Points Table

Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their dominant form in IPL 2026 with a commanding 43-run victory over Chennai Super Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Batting first, RCB posted a massive total of 250/3, thanks to explosive performances from Tim David, who smashed an unbeaten 70 off just 25 balls, and Rajat Patidar, who contributed a steady 48*. Their late-innings acceleration proved decisive in setting up an imposing target.

In response, CSK struggled from the start while chasing 251. Early breakthroughs by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jacob Duffy put pressure on the top order. Although Sarfaraz Khan provided some resistance with a quick half-century, the rising required run rate made the chase increasingly difficult.

RCB’s bowlers maintained control throughout the innings. Krunal Pandya delivered crucial wickets, while a spectacular one-handed catch by Jitesh Sharma to dismiss Shivam Dube further shifted momentum in Bengaluru’s favour.

Despite contributions from Prashant Veer (43) and Jamie Overton (37), CSK were bowled out for 207 in 19.4 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar finished with figures of 3/41, supported by Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma.

With this win, RCB sit at the top of the IPL 2026 points table with two wins in two matches and a strong net run rate of +2.501. In contrast, CSK remain at the bottom after three consecutive losses, facing early-season struggles.

RCB’s dominant performance sends a strong message to the rest of the league as they aim to defend their title.
