Rajasthan Royals Seal Playoff Spot with 30-Run Win Over Mumbai Indians

The Rajasthan Royals kept their IPL 2026 dream alive with a dominant 30-run victory over Mumbai Indians in the 69th league-stage match at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. The crucial win confirmed Rajasthan’s place in the playoffs, while Mumbai ended their disappointing campaign with another defeat.

Batting first after Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya opted to bowl, Rajasthan Royals posted a strong total of 205/8 in 20 overs. Despite an early wobble, RR found momentum through valuable contributions across the batting order. Dhruv Jurel played a crucial knock of 38, while Jofra Archer delivered a stunning late cameo of 32 off just 15 balls to power Rajasthan past the 200-run mark.

Chasing 206, Mumbai Indians suffered a nightmare start as Jofra Archer struck in the very first over to dismiss Rohit Sharma for a duck. Mumbai kept losing wickets at regular intervals, putting them under pressure throughout the innings. Suryakumar Yadav fought back with a determined 60-run knock, but lacked support from the other end as MI eventually finished at 175/9 in 20 overs.

Archer starred with the ball as well, producing a match-winning spell of 3/17 and dismissing key batters including Hardik Pandya and Naman Dhir. His all-round brilliance earned him the Player of the Match award and helped RR clinch the final playoff berth alongside Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
