IPL 2026 Points Table Update: RCB Move to 2nd After Beating GT

Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their strong run in the Indian Premier League 2026 season, defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets in a high-scoring clash. Chasing a challenging 206, RCB crossed the finish line with seven balls to spare, thanks to a commanding knock from Virat Kohli, who scored 81 off 44 balls. The win lifts RCB to second place in the points table with 10 points, just behind Punjab Kings. Rajasthan Royals also sit on 10 points, making the playoff race increasingly competitive.

Kohli’s innings also took him to the top of the Orange Cap standings with 328 runs. He is closely followed by Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen, while Shubman Gill remains among the top performers despite GT’s loss.

In the bowling department, Anshul Kamboj continues to lead the Purple Cap race with 14 wickets, followed by Prince Yadav. There was no major change in the top wicket-takers after this match.

For Gujarat Titans, Sai Sudharsan’s century was the standout performance, but it ultimately came in a losing cause. RCB also gained confidence from Devdutt Padikkal’s quick 55, highlighting their batting depth.

With momentum on their side, RCB look well on track for the playoffs, while GT will need a turnaround to stay in contention.
