Gujarat Titans Crush Sunrisers Hyderabad By 82 Runs To Reclaim Top Spot In IPL 2026

Gujarat Titans delivered a dominant all-round performance to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 82 runs in IPL 2026 and climb to the top of the points table.

After being put in to bat at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat posted 168/5 on a challenging surface. Opener Sai Sudharsan anchored the innings with a composed 61, while Washington Sundar added a crucial 50 off 33 balls to steady the innings after early setbacks.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s chase never gained momentum as Gujarat’s pace attack tore through the batting lineup. Kagiso Rabada picked up three wickets with the new ball, while Jason Holder also claimed three scalps to bowl Hyderabad out for just 86 in 14.5 overs.

Hyderabad suffered early blows with Travis Head dismissed for a duck, followed by quick wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan inside the powerplay. Heinrich Klaasen was the only batter to briefly resist before Holder ended his stay.

Gujarat captain Shubman Gill praised his team’s consistency and aggressive bowling approach after the win. Meanwhile, Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins admitted Gujarat’s pacers outclassed his side on the night.

Rabada was named Player of the Match for his spell of 3/28, which dismantled Hyderabad’s top order and set the tone for Gujarat’s fifth consecutive victory.

With the win, Gujarat Titans moved above Royal Challengers Bengaluru to claim the No.1 spot in the IPL 2026 standings, while Hyderabad remained third on net run-rate.
