Prime Minister has extended warm greetings to devotees undertaking the sacred Amarnath Yatra, describing the pilgrimage as one of India's most enduring spiritual traditions and a powerful symbol of the country's unity in diversity.
In his message to pilgrims, the Prime Minister began with, "Har Har Mahadev! Jai Baba Barfani!", calling it a great blessing to participate in the holy pilgrimage in Jammu and Kashmir. He said the annual journey to the sacred Amarnath Cave is a deeply spiritual and unforgettable experience for millions of Lord Shiva devotees.
Modi noted that every year, pilgrims from across India and around the world travel to the holy shrine, speaking different languages and following diverse traditions, yet united by their devotion to Lord Shiva. He said the pilgrimage reflects India's rich spiritual heritage and the timeless values of Sanatan culture.
The Prime Minister also praised the efforts of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board and the Jammu and Kashmir administration for successfully managing the pilgrimage over the years. He acknowledged the vital role played by the Indian Army, CRPF, Jammu and Kashmir Police, ITBP, BSF, NDRF, healthcare workers, sanitation staff, and administrative officials in ensuring a safe and smooth Yatra.
Highlighting the spirit of selfless service, Modi said thousands of local residents warmly welcome pilgrims, while volunteers from across the country organise community kitchens (langars) and provide assistance along the pilgrimage route. He described this collective effort as a living example of India's tradition of service and the ideal of "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah".
The Prime Minister concluded by extending his heartfelt wishes to all devotees and urged those undertaking the pilgrimage this year to embrace a few meaningful resolutions, reinforcing the values of faith, discipline, harmony, and service throughout the sacred journey.
