Sanju Samson’s unbeaten century and Akeal Hosein’s four-wicket haul power Chennai to a dominant victory at Wankhede
New Delhi,April 23: Chennai Super Kings registered a massive 103-run win over Mumbai Indians in Match 33 of the Indian Premier League 2026 at Wankhede Stadium.
Sanju Samson starred with the bat, smashing an unbeaten 101 off 56 balls to guide CSK to 207/6. His explosive innings laid the foundation for a commanding total.
In reply, MI collapsed under pressure and were bowled out for just 104 in 19 overs. Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein led the bowling attack with outstanding figures of 4/17, while Noor Ahmad chipped in with two wickets.
Despite brief resistance from Suryakumar Yadav (36) and Tilak Varma (37), MI’s batting line-up failed to chase the target. Captain Hardik Pandya was dismissed for a duck as the innings unraveled quickly.
Earlier, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad provided a brisk start, while contributions from the middle order kept the scoreboard ticking before Samson’s late acceleration sealed a 200+ total.
CSK’s all-round performance marks a strong statement in the tournament, while MI face serious questions after a heavy defeat.
