New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva held delegation-level talks at Hyderabad House on Saturday, reaffirming the growing strategic partnership between India and Brazil.

The meeting formed a key engagement of President Lula’s state visit to India and focused on expanding cooperation across trade, investment, energy, technology, and multilateral affairs. Both leaders reviewed progress in bilateral relations and explored avenues to deepen collaboration in areas of mutual interest. Officials indicated that discussions emphasized strengthening economic ties, enhancing business-to-business engagement, and boosting coordination on global challenges. The two sides also exchanged views on issues affecting the Global South, highlighting the shared priorities of emerging economies. Earlier in the day, President Lula received a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where he was greeted by Prime Minister Modi and President Droupadi Murmu. He also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, underscoring the diplomatic significance of the visit.

The Hyderabad House talks are seen as part of broader efforts by both nations to reinforce cooperation in international forums and accelerate momentum in bilateral trade and strategic initiatives.
