Mamata Banerjee Targets Amit Shah, Alleges Intimidation and Conspiracy on Voting Day
Mamata Banerjee accuses Amit Shah of voter intimidation and EVM tampering conspiracy amid high turnout in West Bengal.
Amid ongoing voting in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a sharp political attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging a conspiracy to intimidate voters and influence the electoral process.
Addressing the media during polling, Banerjee claimed that Shah, who she alleged is currently in Kolkata, is attempting to pressure officials and misuse central agencies. She further alleged that such actions are aimed at influencing the democratic process on voting day.
The Chief Minister also pointed to the unusually high voter turnout, stating that it reflects strong public resistance against the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) and dissatisfaction with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party at the Centre. According to her, the surge in participation is a clear signal that voters are determined to defend democracy.
Escalating her allegations, Banerjee accused the BJP of plotting to tamper with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), raising concerns about the integrity of the electoral process. She expressed confidence that despite these alleged attempts, the final results will go against the BJP.
The accusations have intensified the already heated political atmosphere in the state, as voting continues under tight security and heavy public participation.
As polling progresses, all eyes remain on West Bengal, where the outcome is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future political landscape.
