BJP’s New Team: Gen-Z Faces and 33% Women’s Representation

New Delhi | August 17, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party is set for a major organisational reshuffle, with BJP president Nitin Nabin expected to announce his new national team soon. After the Monsoon Session of Parliament, discussions over the new team have intensified, with the party seeking a balance between experienced leaders and younger faces.

The proposed national team could have up to 38 office-bearers, including 13 national vice presidents, eight general secretaries, one organisation general secretary, 15 national secretaries and one treasurer.

33% Women’s Representation

Women are likely to have a significant presence in the new organisation. Under the BJP’s organisational framework, 33% representation for women means at least 13 of the 38 office-bearers could be women.

Gen-Z Leaders in Focus

Nitin Nabin, who is 46, is expected to give greater responsibilities to young leaders. The BJP is also looking to connect more effectively with Gen-Z voters, whose growing political participation could influence upcoming elections.

2027 Elections Drive Strategy

Leaders from poll-bound states such as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat may receive greater importance. Some Union ministers with organisational experience could also be brought back into the party structure.

The new team is being prepared not only for the 2027 Assembly elections but also with an eye on the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, making it a crucial organisational reset for the BJP.
