LPG e-KYC Deadline Extended to August 23: Customers Get One More Week
Server Glitches and Long Queues Push Authorities to Extend the Deadline
New Delhi, August 17, 2026: Domestic LPG consumers who could not complete their mandatory e-KYC by the earlier deadline of August 16 have received a major relief. The deadline has now been extended by one week to August 23, 2026, giving millions of consumers additional time to complete Aadhaar-based verification.
The extension comes amid widespread complaints of server failures, slow apps and technical glitches affecting the e-KYC process. Several LPG dealers have reported long queues outside distribution centres as consumers rushed to complete verification before the previous deadline.
Why Is LPG e-KYC Important?
The Aadhaar-based e-KYC requirement applies to domestic LPG consumers using major providers such as Indane, Bharat Gas and HP Gas. The process is aimed at verifying genuine beneficiaries and ensuring that eligible consumers continue to receive LPG services and applicable benefits.
Consumers who have already completed their e-KYC do not need to repeat the process.
What If You Don't Complete e-KYC?
Failure to complete e-KYC by the new deadline does not automatically mean that the LPG connection will be cancelled immediately. However, pending verification could create difficulties in receiving LPG cylinders at applicable domestic rates or accessing benefits linked to the connection.
The latest extension provides consumers with an extra week to complete the process. Given the continuing technical problems and heavy rush at dealerships, consumers are advised not to wait until August 23 and should complete their verification as early as possible.
