Weather Alert Across India: Dust Storms in North, Heavy Rain Likely from Bengal to Jharkhand

After days of intense heat, weather conditions across India have shifted significantly, bringing relief along with fresh warnings. The India Meteorological Department has issued alerts for thunderstorms, gusty winds, lightning, and rainfall across several parts of the country on April 30.

In North India, regions including New Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab are expected to experience dust storms accompanied by light to moderate rainfall. Strong winds may reduce visibility and disrupt daily activities, although temperatures are likely to dip slightly, offering relief from the heat.

Eastern states such as West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand are likely to witness more intense weather activity, with thunderstorms and heavy rainfall predicted in several areas. Gusty winds may impact power supply and cause local disruptions, while low-lying regions could face waterlogging.

In the Himalayan regions, including Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, light to moderate rain and even snowfall are expected, accompanied by strong winds and possible lightning strikes, leading to a drop in temperatures.

The Northeast is likely to see continuous rainfall over the next few days, while southern states such as Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu may also experience scattered thunderstorms and rain.

Authorities have advised residents to stay indoors during storms, avoid sheltering under trees or near electric poles, and limit unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions.
