Her upbringing took place in Janakpur, the kingdom of King Janak, which is now located in present-day Nepal. Janakpur remains a major pilgrimage destination for devotees of Lord Ram and Maa Sita.

  1. Punaura Dham, Sitamarhi (Bihar) – Believed to be the birthplace of Maa Sita, where King Janak found her while ploughing the field.

  5. Valmiki Ashram – It is believed Maa Sita spent her final years here and gave birth to Luv and Kush.
