PM Narendra Modi shares Sanskrit Subhashitam, says bravery against injustice is true valor
New Delhi, February 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid heartfelt tributes to legendary freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad on his martyrdom day, remembering his supreme sacrifice for the nation.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister described Azad as a “brave son of Mother India” who dedicated his entire life to freeing the country from colonial rule. He stated that Azad’s unwavering commitment to independence and his readiness to sacrifice everything for the motherland would always be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.
Reflecting on the revolutionary’s legacy, Shri Modi said that the life of Chandra Shekhar Azad teaches that firm resolve against injustice is the essence of true prowess. He emphasized that Azad’s courage and sacrifice continue to inspire generations of Indians and strengthen the spirit of patriotism across the country.
The Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam highlighting the importance of bravery: “न हि शौर्यात्परं किञ्चित् त्रिषु लोकेषु विद्यते। शूरः सर्वं पालयति सर्वं शूरे प्रतिष्ठितम्।।"
Explaining its meaning, he noted that there is nothing more exalted than bravery in all the three worlds. Valor, he said, is the fundamental force that protects and sustains everything, and all dignity and prosperity rest upon the courage of the brave.
Chandra Shekhar Azad remains one of India’s most revered revolutionaries, known for his fearless resistance against British rule and his unwavering pledge to never be captured alive. His martyrdom continues to symbolize courage, sacrifice and an undying commitment to the nation’s freedom.
