The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, witnessed the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2026 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on February 18, 2026, in a grand display of naval strength and global maritime camaraderie. Navies from more than 70 countries participated in the prestigious event, underscoring international cooperation and shared maritime values.

Addressing the gathering, the President described the Fleet Review as a powerful symbol of unity, trust, and mutual respect among nations. Highlighting the theme, “United Through Oceans,” she noted that ships bearing different flags and sailors from diverse nations collectively reflected the spirit of togetherness. She emphasized that such collective resolve and cooperation among naval forces can help overcome global challenges.

Reaffirming India’s guiding philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ — the world is one family — President Murmu stated that global security, stability, and sustainable growth are built through partnerships. She stressed that India believes a sound maritime order rests on collective responsibility and cooperative action among like-minded partners. The President also highlighted India’s vision of MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions), which promotes inclusive maritime security and regional progress.

Praising the Indian Navy, the President commended its vigilance in safeguarding national maritime interests and its role as a credible force for deterrence and defence. She lauded the Navy’s humanitarian efforts, noting its frequent role as the First Responder during natural disasters and crises.

President Murmu also appreciated officers and sailors from friendly foreign navies, stating that their presence strengthened bonds of trust and reaffirmed a shared commitment to peace, stability, and cooperation across the seas.
