PM Modi to Launch New Delhi Metro Projects to Boost Connectivity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch and lay the foundation stone for several major metro projects in Delhi, aimed at improving urban connectivity and reducing travel time across the national capital.

The new metro stretch will include stations such as Burari, Jharoda Majra, Jagatpur-Wazirabad, Soorghat, Nanaksar-Sonia Vihar, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura and Yamuna Vihar before reaching Maujpur-Babarpur. The project is expected to strengthen connectivity between north-east and north-west Delhi and make commuting easier for thousands of passengers.

The Deepali Chowk–Majlis Park corridor will extend the Delhi Metro Magenta Line to nearly 49 kilometres. This stretch is part of the Botanical Garden–Krishna Park Extension route and will include seven elevated stations such as Madhuban Chowk, Uttar Pitampura–Prashant Vihar, Haiderpur Village, Haiderpur Badli Mor and Bhalswa. The Majlis Park–Maujpur-Babarpur section will also feature a new bridge over the Yamuna River and a unique double-decker viaduct carrying both a metro track and a road flyover.

Under Phase 5(A), the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for three new metro corridors, including the underground Central Vista corridor linking Ramakrishna Ashram Marg and Indraprastha, and extensions of the Golden Line connecting Aerocity, Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1, Tughlakabad and Kalindi Kunj.

These projects are expected to strengthen connectivity between Delhi and nearby NCR cities like Noida, Faridabad and Ballabhgarh.

Apart from metro development, projects worth around ₹15,200 crore under the redevelopment of General Pool Residential Accommodation colonies will also be launched.
