Tensions escalated in Ghaziabad after parents of students at Delhi Public School Ghaziabad staged a strong protest against the sudden extension of school hours. The decision by the school administration has triggered widespread anger among parents, who termed it arbitrary and inconvenient.
Following a demonstration outside the school premises on Saturday, hundreds of parents gathered again on Monday and marched to the District Magistrate’s office. The protestors raised slogans against the school management and staged a sit-in at the office gate, demanding immediate intervention from the district administration.
The protest was organized under the leadership of the Indian Parents Association, with participants expressing deep concern over the impact of increased school hours on students’ well-being and daily routines.
Angry parents stated that the decision to change the schedule was taken without proper consultation and has caused significant inconvenience. They warned that the agitation would continue until their demands are addressed.
A delegation of parents also sought a meeting with the District Magistrate, urging authorities to take swift action and direct the school administration to roll back the decision.
The situation highlights growing concerns among parents over unilateral decisions by educational institutions and the need for balanced policies that prioritize student welfare.
