A major health scare unfolded in Bihar’s Saharsa district after more than 250 children reportedly fell ill following the consumption of a mid-day meal at a government school in the Mahishi block area.
According to reports, soon after eating the meal, several students began complaining of vomiting, stomach pain and anxiety. As the condition of the children worsened, chaos erupted in the school premises and nearby village. The affected students were rushed to nearby hospitals and health centres for treatment.
The incident triggered panic among parents and local residents, who accused the school administration of negligence in the preparation and distribution of food.
The controversy intensified after some parents alleged that a snake was found in the food served to the children. Reportedly, one student informed family members after returning home, claiming that a snake had been seen in the meal.
Following the allegation, villagers rushed to the school premises. Locals claimed that a large snake was spotted in a plate containing the food prepared for students. As news of the alleged discovery spread, fear gripped the children, leading to further panic and deterioration in the condition of several students.
