Mumbai Crime Branch Takes Custody Of Dawood Ibrahim Aide Salim Dola In ₹253 Crore MD Drug Case

Mumbai Crime Branch Unit 7 has taken custody of alleged underworld don Dawood Ibrahim aide Salim Dola for further interrogation in connection with the 2024 Sangli MD drug manufacturing case worth ₹253 crore.

According to the Crime Branch, a raid conducted in Sangli in March 2024 led to the seizure of 122 kg of MD drugs, along with cash and gold collectively valued at around ₹253 crore. During the operation, six accused were arrested, including Pravin Shinde, who allegedly operated the illegal drug manufacturing unit.

Investigators claim that Salim Dola financially backed the MD drug manufacturing units and monitored the transportation network linked to the narcotics racket.

Earlier, Crime Branch Unit 7 had also arrested Taher Dola and Kubbawala after their extradition from Dubai in connection with the same case. Officials have now formally taken Salim Dola’s custody from the NCB to further probe the international drug trafficking network.

Salim Dola was lodged in Arthur Road Jail before being taken into custody by the Mumbai Crime Branch. The agency had moved the Special NDPS Court seeking his custody, citing his alleged role as a close associate of Dawood Ibrahim and an international drug trafficker. The court subsequently granted custody.
