Delhi Metro to Ease Travel for Students During CBSE Board Exams 2026

New Delhi, February 20: In view of the ongoing CBSE Board Examinations 2026 for Classes X and XII, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has rolled out special measures to support students commuting across the national capital. The exams, which began on February 17, will continue until April 10, 2026.

Recognising the significant rise in student movement during the examination period, DMRC, in coordination with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), has introduced facilitation steps aimed at ensuring a smooth and stress-free travel experience.

Under the new arrangements, students carrying valid CBSE admit cards will be given priority during security frisking at metro stations. This move is intended to help students save time and avoid unnecessary delays, particularly during peak morning hours when exam schedules typically begin.

In addition, students presenting their admit cards will receive priority while purchasing tickets at Ticket Office Machines (TOM) and Customer Care (CC) centres. The provision is expected to reduce queuing time and improve passenger flow at busy stations.

To further assist commuters, DMRC will also conduct special centralised announcements across metro stations, guiding students and ensuring better awareness of the available facilities.

With lakhs of students relying on the Delhi Metro network during the board examinations, the initiative underscores DMRC’s commitment to public convenience and student welfare. The measures are designed to minimise travel-related anxiety and allow students to focus on their examinations without logistical concerns.
