Cloth Merchant Receives Threat After Firing Incident, Traders in Area Express Anger

New Delhi: Tension has gripped the Jawahar Park area under the Shaheed Nagar police outpost in Sahibabad after a local cloth merchant allegedly received a death threat following a late-night firing incident that left residents terrified.

According to reports, Bharat, son of Ramesh and a resident of B-2 Jawahar Park, who runs a cloth shop from his home, allegedly received a threatening message stating, “You’re next.” Following the threat, the merchant and his family are reportedly living in fear.

Residents claim that around 11 PM on the night of May 25, unidentified scooter-borne miscreants fired 10 to 12 rounds of bullets at a house located directly opposite the merchant’s residence. The incident reportedly occurred after a disputed property had recently been vacated by police and restored to a helpless widow woman following an alleged illegal occupation.

Police reached the spot after the firing and launched an investigation. Authorities reportedly recovered 10 empty cartridges from the scene as evidence.

The alleged threat to the cloth merchant after the shooting has sparked anger and concern among local traders, who fear a deteriorating law-and-order situation in the area. Many residents believe someone may be attempting to disturb communal peace and create unrest in the locality.

Locals have also expressed dissatisfaction, alleging that the police are not treating the matter with the seriousness it deserves, despite growing panic among residents and business owners.
