Builder’s Construction Activity Sparks Pollution Concerns in Greater Noida
Locals claim that dust and debris from a project by ACEDIVINO Builder are spreading across surrounding neighborhoods, affecting daily life and public health
New Delhi :Residents of Greater Noida have raised serious concerns over increasing pollution levels in the city, alleging that unchecked construction activities are worsening air quality. Locals claim that dust and debris from a project by ACEDIVINO Builder are spreading across surrounding neighborhoods, affecting daily life and public health.
According to residents, large-scale construction work is being carried out without adequate dust-control measures such as water sprinkling, green net coverings, or proper waste management. They allege that construction material is often left uncovered, allowing dust to travel through nearby residential areas.
Many citizens have also expressed frustration with the local authority, accusing officials of failing to enforce environmental norms strictly. They argue that despite repeated complaints, little visible action has been taken to ensure compliance with pollution-control guidelines.
Environmental experts state that construction dust is a significant contributor to rising particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) levels in rapidly developing urban centers like Greater Noida. They emphasize that builders are legally required to follow the National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines, including site barricading, covering of materials, and regular monitoring of emissions.
Residents are now demanding immediate inspection of the site and strict penalties if violations are confirmed. They have urged the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) to intervene promptly and prioritize public health.
As urban development continues to expand in the region, citizens stress that growth must not come at the cost of clean air and environmental safety. The issue highlights the ongoing challenge of balancing infrastructure development with sustainable and responsible urban planning.
