Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme 2026: ₹1,500 Monthly Support for Unemployed Youth in West Bengal

The West Bengal government has announced the launch of the Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme, aimed at providing financial assistance to unemployed youth across the state. The scheme, introduced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, is scheduled to commence on April 1, 2026. Under this initiative, eligible beneficiaries will receive ₹1,500 per month to support their job search and skill development efforts. The programme targets young individuals aged between 21 and 40 years who have completed secondary education but remain unemployed.

Applicants must be permanent residents of West Bengal. However, individuals already receiving benefits from other state welfare schemes are generally not eligible, except for those availing scholarship programmes such as Aikyashree, Medhashree, Sikhashree (Smart Card Scheme), and Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Scholarship. Applications will primarily be accepted through special government camps organized in every assembly constituency from February 15 to February 26. Sample application forms are expected to be available online via official portals. Required forms typically include Application Form (Form A), Self-Declaration Form, and Bank Mandate Form.

To apply online, candidates need to register using a mobile number, verify via OTP, and provide personal and bank details. Essential documents include a passport-size photograph, Aadhaar card, secondary marksheet, and bank passbook.

The financial assistance will be transferred directly to beneficiaries’ Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for a maximum period of five years. Applicants can track their status using the application ID generated upon submission.
