Badrinath Temple Opens for Summer Season with Grand Rituals
Over 15,000 devotees attend opening ceremony; CM Dhami performs first Mahabhishek in PM Modi’s name
The sacred Badrinath Temple in Uttarakhand reopened its doors for the summer pilgrimage season on Thursday morning at 6:15 AM, amid Vedic chants and traditional rituals.
The ceremonial opening of the temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, marked the beginning of the annual Char Dham Yatra, drawing thousands of devotees from across the country. Approximately 15,000 pilgrims gathered on the occasion to seek blessings of Lord Badri Vishal.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the rituals and performed the first Mahabhishek puja in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the state and the nation. In addition to the main ceremony, the Chief Minister also offered prayers at other sacred sites within the temple premises , following traditional customs.
The reopening of Badrinath Temple each year is a significant spiritual event, symbolizing devotion, tradition, and the arrival of the pilgrimage season in the Himalayas. Authorities have made arrangements to manage the large influx of devotees and ensure a smooth darshan experience.
