Trump Orders ‘Shoot and Kill’ Action Against Iranian Boats in Strait of Hormuz, Tensions Soar

US President Donald Trump has issued a strong military directive to the United States Navy, ordering forces to “shoot and kill” any Iranian boats found laying sea mines in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

Announcing the move on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the order applies to all boats involved in placing mines in the waterway, regardless of size. He added that there should be “no hesitation” in carrying out the action. Trump also claimed that Iranian naval ships had already been destroyed, stating that “their naval ships are all at the bottom of the sea.”

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical shipping routes, with nearly 20 percent of global crude oil and natural gas trade passing through it. Any disruption in this region has immediate consequences for international energy markets and global trade.

Trump further stated that US mine-sweeping vessels are already operating in the region to clear explosive threats and that he has ordered those operations to continue at a “tripled-up level.”

His post came shortly after the US military reportedly seized another tanker linked to Iranian oil smuggling, further escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran. The incident has intensified fears of a broader maritime conflict in the Gulf region.

With military activity rising and diplomatic tensions deepening, global attention is now focused on whether this standoff could trigger a larger confrontation between the US and Iran.
