The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) has announced a revision in fuel prices across Sri Lanka, which came into effect from March 9, 2026. The decision was made following the government’s periodic fuel price review.
According to the official announcement, the prices of several petroleum products have been increased. The price of Lanka Super Diesel has been raised by 22 rupees, bringing the new price to 303 rupees per litre. Similarly, Lanka Petrol 92 Octane has increased by 24 rupees, making the new price 317 rupees per litre.
The price of Lanka Kerosene has also been increased by 13 rupees, taking the new rate to 195 rupees per litre. Meanwhile, Lanka Petrol 95 Octane has recorded the highest increase of 25 rupees, raising its price to 365 rupees per litre. Another fuel category has also seen a price hike of 24 rupees, setting its new price at 353 rupees per litre.
CEYPETCO stated that the revision is part of its monthly pricing mechanism, which considers global oil prices, import costs, and other economic factors. Authorities said the updated prices will apply nationwide from midnight on March 9.
The price adjustment is expected to impact transportation and other sectors that rely heavily on fuel. However, officials emphasized that such revisions are necessary to maintain the stability of the country’s fuel supply system.
