Russia Expresses Solidarity with Iran, Urges Peaceful Resolution Amid Rising Tensions
Russia has expressed strong solidarity with Iran following recent attacks
Russia has expressed strong solidarity with Iran following recent attacks, calling for restraint and a return to diplomatic negotiations. Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov said Moscow stands with the people and government of Iran during the ongoing crisis.
Speaking on the developments, Alipov said that Vladimir Putin has conveyed his sympathies to Iran and condemned the recent strikes. He described the attacks by United States and Israel as an “outrageous violation of international norms and morality.”
The Russian envoy emphasised that the situation should be resolved through diplomacy rather than military escalation. “We call on the concerned parties to return to the negotiating table,” Alipov said, adding that negotiations were reportedly ongoing when the attacks took place. He expressed hope that the hostilities would stop soon and a peaceful resolution could be achieved.
Addressing questions regarding energy cooperation, Alipov reiterated that Russia remains ready to continue supplying crude oil to India. However, he clarified that decisions regarding oil imports are entirely up to the Indian government.
“It is for India to decide. We have always been ready to offer oil supplies,” the ambassador said, underlining Russia’s willingness to maintain strong energy cooperation with New Delhi.
Russia has consistently called for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve international disputes, warning that continued military escalation could further destabilise the region and impact global security.
