3 Bollywood Stars in Trouble? SRK, Ajay Devgn & Tiger Shroff Get FDA Notices Over Vimal Ad

Mumbai, August 16, 2026: Trouble is brewing for Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff after the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued show-cause notices over their participation in a Vimal Elaichi advertisement.

The regulator has alleged that the advertisement could amount to indirect or surrogate promotion of Vimal Pan Masala, which is prohibited in Maharashtra. According to the FDA, the campaign appears to promote a brand strongly associated with pan masala through its elaichi product.

The three actors have been given 15 days to explain their involvement. The notices reportedly seek details about their endorsement agreements and promotional activities. They have also been asked to stop promoting the advertisement and remove related content from social media.

The action comes as Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe intensifies enforcement against prohibited tobacco and pan masala products and allegedly misleading promotions.

However, the notices do not mean the actors have been found guilty. They can submit their explanations and seek a personal hearing. If their responses are not received or are deemed unsatisfactory, the FDA has warned that further action could follow.

The controversy once again puts the spotlight on celebrity endorsements and surrogate advertising involving brands associated with tobacco and pan masala.
