EFM remains one of the world’s most influential marketplaces for film financing, sales, distribution, and international co-productions, convening producers, studios, sales agents, and decision-makers from across the global film industry. Maharashtra’s engagement formed part of India’s wider cultural and industry outreach initiatives. The Maharashtra delegation, led by Ashish Shelar, Minister for IT & Cultural Affairs, presented the state’s film ecosystem, policy advantages, and production capabilities to international stakeholders. Officials from the Cultural Affairs department and representatives of Maharashtra Film Stage & Cultural Development Corporation Ltd. participated alongside industry members. A central highlight of the presentation was the infrastructure at Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari (Film City), Mumbai, positioned as an integrated production hub offering studios, outdoor sets, and post-production facilities within a single ecosystem. The delegation also emphasized the creative and commercial momentum of Marathi cinema, noting its expanding recognition on international festival circuits. Discussions focused on global co-production opportunities, talent collaboration, and film tourism potential.
