Meerut’s Deepankar Saxena Named in Prestigious ‘Okta Identity 25’ Global List
The cybersecurity expert became the only Indian featured in the 2026 global list for his groundbreaking work in digital identity protection and AI-powered fraud prevention.
Meerut-born cybersecurity expert Deepankar Saxena has been included in the prestigious 2026 ‘Okta Identity 25’ list, which recognizes 25 leading global experts for their contributions to digital identity and cybersecurity.
Deepankar is the only Indian to feature in this year’s list. The announcement was made on May 4 at New York’s Times Square in the United States, where videos of all selected experts were showcased.
Currently serving as General Manager and Head of Product at Socure Inc. in the US, Deepankar has made significant contributions in the fields of cybersecurity and digital authentication. Earlier this year, he also received a US patent for developing technology aimed at preventing deepfake and AI-based fraud.
He completed his schooling from DMA First Modipuram in Meerut, passing Class 10 in 2009 and Class 12 in 2011. Later, he earned a B.Tech degree in Information Technology from VIT University, Vellore, in 2015.
Deepankar began his professional journey with Zoho Corporation in Chennai, where he quickly rose to the position of Tech Lead within just three years due to his exceptional technical abilities.
When US-based Socure planned to expand operations in India, Deepankar chose to move into product management instead of continuing in a purely technical leadership role. He was subsequently selected as Product Manager at the company’s Chennai office.
He believes mobile driving licenses, verifiable credentials, and wallet-based identity systems represent the next major transformation in digital security.
The technology developed by Deepankar focuses on preventing fraud during digital identity verification. His innovation is specifically designed to detect “image injection attacks,” a method in which cybercriminals attempt to deceive document scanners or camera systems using fake visual data.
Okta releases its annual ‘Identity 25’ list to honour individuals making remarkable contributions in the areas of digital identity, authentication, and cybersecurity.
