Tej Pratap Yadav Alleges Theft of ₹20 Lakh Party Funds, Files FIR Against Personal Assistant
RJD leader accuses close aide of stealing cash, gold jewellery, gadgets and party funds from his official residence in Patna.
Patna, June 23, 2026: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tej Pratap Yadav has lodged a police complaint against his personal assistant, Motilal Rai, alleging theft of cash and valuables worth several lakhs from his official residence in Patna.
According to the complaint filed at the Secretariat Police Station, Tej Pratap claimed that around ₹20 lakh in cash, which he described as party funds, was missing from an almirah in his room. The alleged theft came to light on June 22 when he checked the contents of the cupboard.
The complaint states that several valuable items were also found missing, including a two-tola gold chain, a gold ring, four new drones, two hard disks, an iPad, a MacBook, a Lenovo laptop, and four iPhone 17 Pro Max smartphones.
Tej Pratap has accused his personal assistant, Motilal Rai, of carrying out the theft. In his written statement to the police, he claimed that two individuals witnessed Rai leaving the residence compound with a bag around 11:30 PM on the night of the incident after allegedly scaling the boundary wall.
The RJD leader has requested the police to register an FIR, conduct a thorough investigation, arrest the accused, and recover the stolen cash and valuables.
Police officials confirmed that an investigation has been initiated based on the complaint. Authorities stated that the allegations are being examined and further legal action will depend on the evidence gathered during the probe.
The claims made in the complaint are yet to be independently verified, and police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
