Bihar Election 2025: NDA Surges Ahead with Two-Thirds Majority; BJP and JDU Lead with 80 Seats Each

The Bihar election results are unfolding dramatically, yet remain largely in line with early predictions and ground assessments. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is on course for a sweeping victory, securing well over two-thirds of the total seats, signalling one of the strongest mandates the state has seen in recent years.

Both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) are performing exceptionally well, with each party projected to secure around 80 seats. This parallel rise underscores not only the organisational strength of the alliance but also the continued relevance and widespread appeal of Nitish Kumar’s leadership across Bihar.

A key highlight of this election has been the overwhelming support from women voters. The “Mahila factor” has clearly tilted the electoral mood in favour of the NDA, with many appreciating the government’s focus on safety, welfare schemes, and household-level development initiatives. This demographic boost has significantly bolstered the alliance’s margins in several constituencies.
