Dimple Yadav Alleges “Planned Move” by BJP on Delimitation, Raises Concerns Over Women’s Issues

Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav has strongly criticized the government over the handling of the Women’s Reservation and Delimitation issue, calling it a “planned move” by the BJP. She stated that as per constitutional provisions, a census must be conducted before undertaking delimitation, alleging that the government failed in its responsibility and is now shifting the blame onto others.

Yadav further claimed that the move was strategically designed by the Bharatiya Janata Party, as it was aware that the Samajwadi Party and the broader opposition had supported and facilitated the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill in 2023. According to her, the attempt to link delimitation with the bill was a deliberate effort to complicate and delay its implementation.

Highlighting broader concerns, she emphasized that women across the country are currently grappling with issues such as rising inflation, lack of access to quality education, and concerns over safety and security. She accused the ruling party of being “anti-women,” particularly pointing to the denial of reservation for OBC women.

Yadav warned that the anger among OBC women could have political consequences, especially in states like Uttar Pradesh. Her remarks have added to the intensifying political debate surrounding women’s representation, electoral reforms, and governance priorities.
