Rejected Proposal Triggers Alleged AI Harassment in Bhopal
A woman alleges a Udaipur man created fake honeymoon photos, printed false baby shower invitations, and booked over 500 taxis to her home after their marriage proposal was rejected.
A shocking case of alleged cyber harassment has surfaced in Bhopal, where a woman claims she and her family were targeted for nearly a year after rejecting a marriage proposal.
According to the complaint, the families connected through a matrimonial website and met to discuss the alliance. However, the woman's family decided not to proceed after finding the prospective groom's behaviour inappropriate.
Following the rejection, the accused allegedly launched a sustained campaign of harassment. The woman claims she received repeated calls from multiple phone numbers, while AI-generated honeymoon photographs falsely portraying her were circulated on social media through fake accounts to tarnish her reputation.
The family also alleged that fake baby shower invitation cards were printed and distributed across their neighbourhood, creating confusion among relatives and neighbours. The invitations even promised silver coins to guests to attract attendance.
In another alleged act of harassment, more than 500 taxi bookings were reportedly made using the family's residential address, causing drivers to repeatedly arrive at their home and adding to their distress.
The victim has filed a complaint with the State Women's Commission. Police said the allegations are being investigated, and appropriate action will be taken if evidence supports the claims. Officials also noted that the case highlights the growing misuse of artificial intelligence and digital technology for cyber harassment.
