President Droupadi Murmu to Confer Padma Awards on 66 Distinguished Personalities Today

Droupadi Murmu will confer the prestigious Padma Awards on 66 distinguished personalities at the first Civil Investiture Ceremony of 2026, scheduled to take place today at the Ganatantra Mandap in Rashtrapati Bhavan.

According to official details, the awardees include two recipients of the Padma Vibhushan, six recipients of the Padma Bhushan, and 58 individuals who will receive the Padma Shri for their exceptional contributions across various fields.

The Padma Awards, among India’s highest civilian honours, are presented to individuals for distinguished service and achievements in areas such as art, literature, education, public affairs, science, sports, medicine, social work, and civil service.

Several prominent dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony, including C. P. Radhakrishnan, Narendra Modi, and Amit Shah, along with other senior officials and distinguished guests.

The ceremony marks an important occasion to celebrate and honour individuals who have made remarkable contributions to society and the nation through their work and achievements.
