Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam emphasizing the spirit of total dedication to the nation and humanity. Posting on X, Modi underscored the idea of “sarvasva samarpan” (complete surrender), describing it as a consciousness in which the nation and the welfare of humanity remain paramount. The verse quoted by the Prime Minister reads: “यस्येमे हिमवन्तो महित्वा यस्य समुद्रं रसया सहाहुः। यस्येमाः प्रदिशो यस्य बाहू कस्मै देवाय हविषा विधेम॥” Explaining its essence, Modi noted that the Subhashitam reflects an offering of one’s entire being to the nation—whose grandeur is symbolized by the Himalayas, whose vitality flows through rivers into the ocean, and whose strength is likened to the directions themselves. The Prime Minister also invoked the legacy of Narendra Modi, highlighting that the philosophy resonates with the ideals of Antyodaya, a doctrine centered on uplifting the last person in society. He paid tribute to Deendayal Upadhyaya, describing him as a pioneer of Antyodaya who dedicated his life to empowering every citizen. In his message, Modi stated that such devotion represents a guiding principle for national service, where collective progress and human welfare stand above individual interests. The post drew attention on social media, with many users reflecting on the cultural and philosophical significance of the Sanskrit verse and its contemporary relevance.
