New Delhi, April 18, 2026: The Indian Parliament saw intense deliberations late into the night as lawmakers debated three crucial bills related to women’s reservation, constitutional amendment, and delimitation. The proceedings in the Lok Sabha were extended multiple times, underlining the significance of the proposed legislative measures.

A substantial number of Members of Parliament remained उपस्थित in the House until late hours, actively contributing to the discussion. Om Birla commended the active participation and strong presence of women MPs, emphasizing their increasing influence in parliamentary proceedings.

Amid the ongoing debate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a message on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday morning, coinciding with the official implementation of the Women’s Reservation Act, 2023, following a notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice.

In his post, Modi stated, “Our Nari Shakti is the identity of a strong India. Our mothers, sisters, and daughters are enhancing the nation’s pride across every sector with their unwavering determination, dedication, and spirit of service.”
