CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Inaugurates Maa Purnagiri Fair in Tanakpur
Reaffirms Commitment to Cultural Heritage, Pilgrim Safety and Temple Development
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami along with Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta formally inaugurated the Maa Purnagiri Fair at Thuligad in Tanakpur.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister offered prayers at Maa Purnagiri Dham and sought blessings for the prosperity and well-being of the state. Addressing devotees and officials, he described the Maa Purnagiri Mela as a grand celebration of faith, tradition, and culture that reflects the deep spiritual roots of the region.
Shri Dhami reiterated the state government’s commitment to preserving Sanatan culture and local traditions. He emphasized that cultural heritage and religious tourism play a significant role in strengthening Uttarakhand’s identity as a spiritual hub.
Highlighting development initiatives, the Chief Minister said the government is continuously working on the restoration of temples and the expansion of pilgrimage facilities in Kedarkhand and Manaskhand regions. He noted that these efforts aim to improve infrastructure while maintaining the sanctity and heritage of sacred sites.
The Chief Minister also stressed that ensuring the safety and convenience of devotees visiting Purnagiri Dham remains a top priority for the government. He assured that necessary arrangements have been made to provide better facilities, crowd management, and security during the fair.
The Maa Purnagiri Fair attracts thousands of devotees every year and is considered one of the major religious gatherings in the region, symbolizing devotion, unity, and cultural pride.
