Census 2027 Exercise Begins Across Key Regions; Over 1.2 Million Families Submit Data Online

Under the ongoing Census 2027 campaign, the government has initiated the process of collecting detailed household data starting April 16 across several regions, including parts of Delhi such as NDMC and Cantonment areas, along with the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Goa, Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Mizoram, Odisha, and Sikkim.

As part of this phase, census officials visiting households will record responses to as many as 33 questions using a digital system. The survey aims to gather comprehensive information regarding the number of houses, their condition, and property-related details, ensuring accurate and updated demographic data.

In a significant development, the government revealed that nearly 1.2 million families have already submitted their information through the newly introduced self-enumeration portal as of April 15. This marks the first time such a digital सुविधा has been implemented, allowing citizens to proactively participate in the census process.

Authorities have advised these families to keep their Self Enumeration ID ready. When census officials visit their homes, residents will be required to share this ID for verification purposes, ensuring the authenticity and accuracy of the submitted data.

The initiative reflects the government’s push towards digitization and efficiency in one of the largest administrative exercises in the country.
