The Border Security Force (BSF) has scripted history as its first all-women Mount Everest expedition team successfully scaled the world’s highest peak under ‘Mission Vande Mataram’, marking a major milestone in the force’s journey.

On May 21, 2026, at around 8 AM, team members Constable Kausar Fatima, Munmun Ghosh, Rebecca Singh, and Tsering Chorol reached the summit of Mount Everest, standing tall at an altitude of 8,848.86 metres. Upon reaching the peak, the team proudly unfurled the Indian tricolour and sang “Vande Mataram”, celebrating the moment of triumph and national pride.

The achievement holds special significance as it comes during the Diamond Jubilee year of the BSF, symbolising the spirit of women empowerment, courage, resilience, and patriotism. The expedition is being hailed as a landmark accomplishment, showcasing the growing role of women in challenging and high-risk missions.

The successful summit by the all-women team is expected to inspire countless young women across the country, reinforcing the message that determination and teamwork can overcome even the toughest challenges — including the world’s highest mountain.
