BPSC Teacher Gunjan Kumari Responds to Husband’s Allegations, Says ‘Land Was Sold for Treatment, Not My Education’

The ongoing dispute between BPSC teacher Gunjan Kumari and her husband Aman Kumar in Bihar’s Hajipur has taken a new turn, with Gunjan publicly responding to the allegations leveled against her. Denying all accusations, the teacher stated that none of the claims against her have ever been proven in court and expressed confidence in the judicial process.

Speaking to the media, Gunjan Kumari said the matter is currently under judicial consideration and stressed that any allegations should be backed by evidence and presented before the court rather than being circulated in public forums or the media.

She alleged that attempts were being made to tarnish her reputation without proof and maintained that the truth would emerge through legal proceedings.

‘My Success Is the Result of Hard Work’ Recalling her educational journey, Gunjan said she got married shortly after completing intermediate studies but continued her education despite personal challenges. She completed her graduation, earned a B.Ed degree, cleared the CTET examination, and later prepared for the BPSC teacher recruitment exam.

According to her, becoming a teacher was the result of years of dedication, perseverance, and consistent effort. She rejected suggestions that her success was dependent on someone else’s contribution, calling such claims disrespectful to her hard work.

Clarification on Land Sale Allegation Responding to allegations by her husband that family land had been sold to fund her education, Gunjan dismissed the claim as misleading. She stated that the land was sold due to her husband’s medical treatment following a leg injury and related circumstances, not to support her studies.

“If the land had been sold for my education, it would have happened while I was studying,” she argued, accusing critics of distorting facts.

Claims of Mental Harassment Gunjan also alleged that she faced mental harassment during her posting in Supaul district in 2023, where she lived with her children while managing both professional and household responsibilities.

She claimed her husband frequently visited and spread negative information about her, creating emotional distress and affecting their marital relationship.

Darjeeling Trip and Child Custody Dispute Addressing allegations related to a trip to Darjeeling, Gunjan clarified that she traveled with fellow women teachers after completing a training programme and remained in regular contact with her family through video calls.

She further claimed that since 2022, she has been living separately from her husband due to continued mental harassment.

On the issue of child custody, Gunjan alleged that statements from her minor son were made under pressure. She said she has already approached the court seeking custody and believes she has a legal right after raising the child.

Police Investigation Underway Meanwhile, Sadar SDPO Subodh Kumar confirmed that a complaint filed by Aman Kumar is currently under investigation. According to police, both husband and wife have appeared before authorities and reportedly expressed unwillingness to continue living together.

Officials added that the case is already pending before the court, and further action will follow the legal process.

As the marital dispute unfolds, both sides continue to present conflicting claims, leaving the final outcome to be determined by the court.
